Sarah Pope and Bloggers React on Senator Tito Sotto Statement "Blogger lang iyon"
Bloggers and other netizens reacts after hearing the reaction of Senator Tito Sotto in an interview on ANC's Headstart, stating "Bakit ko naman iqu-quote ang blogger? Blogger lang iyon. [Why will I quote a blogger? She's just a blogger.]" . The said senator has been accused of plagiarizing a blog written by Sarah Pope, blogger of "The Healthy Home Economist".

Last week, the media praises Tito Sotto with his heart warming speech on the senate regarding the controversial RH Bill. Right after then, a news spread out that the said speech was copied "word per word" in an article written by Mrs. Pope last February 23, 2011. The article explains the side effects of taking pills which was used in the senator's speech.

Sotto already denied this allegation and explained that he quoted Dr. Natasha McBride, famous for developing a concept of gut and psychology syndrome. The said doctor was also quoted from the blog of Pope.

"Yung blogger na sinasabi nila, pareho kami ng pinagkunan eh, si Natasha Campbell-McBride. Bakit ko naman iku-quote ‘yung blogger, ang kinu-quote ko si Natasha McBride,", Sotto said.

Pope already reacted in her Facebook page and posted her reactions on her article written on August 16, 2012.

In her post she said, "Nice touch Senator. You almost had me convinced you were a nice guy with the tears and all. Many of your citizenry have emailed me assuring me that was a put on, and I'm starting to think they are right."

"A thief is a thief, Mr. Senator. Denying it doesn't get you off the hook; it just makes you a lying thief.", she added.

According to her, though her attorney persuades her to take legal actions about it, she said that she would not sue anyone over this and would prefer to move on.

"I'm not going to sue anyone over this. It just feels very weird to be in the middle of the debate on a bill in the Philippines over women's Reproductive Rights", Pope said.
